Terms of Use

1. Overview

GuidedD ("we," "us," or "our") operates a career mentorship platform that connects mentees with independent mentors for one-on-one video sessions. By accessing or using GuidedD, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

GuidedD may update features, pricing, and policies from time to time. For information about how we collect and use personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.

2. Who Can Use GuidedD

You must be at least 18 years old to use GuidedD. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Mentor Independence

Mentors on GuidedD are independent professionals, not employees or agents of GuidedD. They offer personal perspective and lived experience — not licensed advice in any professional field.

• GuidedD does not control what mentors say in sessions.
• GuidedD does not guarantee any specific outcome from a session.
• Mentors are responsible for the content of their own guidance.
• Mentees are responsible for the decisions they make based on that guidance.

4. Not Professional Advice

GuidedD is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, medical, psychological, or other licensed advice. Content shared on this platform — including mentor profiles, session content, and any materials — is for informational and personal development purposes only.

If you are facing a situation that requires professional expertise, please consult a licensed professional in the relevant field.

5. Payments and Refunds

Session fees are established by GuidedD in consultation with mentors and may vary based on factors such as mentor experience, session type, and specialization. Payment is collected when a session is booked and confirmed. You will not be charged simply for browsing mentors or requesting a session.

• All payments must be made through the GuidedD platform. Mentors may not collect payment directly from mentees, and mentees may not pay mentors outside of GuidedD, for any session that originated through the platform. Any transaction that begins on GuidedD must remain a GuidedD transaction.
• Payment details will be provided at the time of booking confirmation.
• If a session is cancelled by the mentor, you will receive a full refund.
• If you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled session, you may request a refund, less any applicable payment processing fees.
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session are not eligible for a refund.
• If a session is completed but did not meet expectations, please contact us within 48 hours and we will review your request.

6. Session Conduct

All sessions are expected to be conducted with mutual respect. GuidedD reserves the right to remove any mentor or mentee from the platform for conduct that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful.

• Sessions may not be recorded without the explicit consent of both parties.
• Both parties are expected to respect the private nature of session discussions and should not share session content publicly without consent.
• GuidedD does not record sessions.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use GuidedD to:

• Harass, threaten, or demean any mentor, mentee, or GuidedD staff member.
• Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or intentions on the platform.
• Use the platform to solicit, arrange, or attempt to conduct sessions outside GuidedD in order to avoid platform fees or processes.
• Request, accept, or encourage payment for any GuidedD-originated session outside of the GuidedD platform.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of the platform without written permission.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate removal from the platform and loss of any refund eligibility, where permitted.

8. Account Termination

GuidedD reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the platform if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to others on the platform. We will try to provide notice when practical.

Users may also request to close their account at any time by contacting us at support@guidedd.com. Upon account closure, any pending session requests will be cancelled and any eligible refunds processed. Account closure does not automatically result in immediate deletion of all associated data. Data deletion requests are handled separately under our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the GuidedD platform — including text, design, branding, and code — is owned by GuidedD or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any GuidedD content without written permission.

Mentor-created materials shared through the platform remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GuidedD is not liable for:

• The accuracy, quality, or outcomes of mentor guidance.
• Any decisions made by mentees based on session content.
• Technical issues, interruptions, or data loss.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

GuidedD's total liability to any user shall not exceed the amount paid by that user in the 30 days preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of GuidedD after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of GuidedD will be resolved through good-faith negotiation when possible. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to binding arbitration in New York, NY, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Platform Role and Mentor Role

GuidedD is a marketplace — not a provider of mentorship, advice, or professional services. GuidedD handles booking, payment, and platform policies. Mentors are independent contributors, not employees or agents of GuidedD. See Sections 3 and 4 for full detail on mentor independence and the limits of guidance provided through the platform.

14. Mentor Suspension and Removal

GuidedD reserves the right to suspend or remove any mentor from the platform at any time for violations of the Mentor Standards, these Terms, or any conduct GuidedD determines to be harmful to mentees or the platform. Mentors removed for policy violations forfeit any unpaid platform earnings to the extent permitted by applicable law.

GuidedD will generally notify mentors of concerns before taking action, except where immediate suspension is necessary to protect mentees or platform integrity.

15. Platform Availability

GuidedD may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice of significant changes when practical.

GuidedD does not guarantee mentor availability, acceptance of any session request, or continued access to any specific mentor. Mentor participation on the platform is subject to change at any time.

16. No Guarantee of Results

GuidedD does not guarantee any specific outcome from using the platform or participating in a mentorship session, including job offers, promotions, interviews, business opportunities, or personal results. Mentors share their experience and perspective — outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
