Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 25, 2026  ·  Effective date: March 25, 2026

GuidedD is a career mentorship platform. We collect and use your information to connect mentees with mentors, process bookings, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, mentees, mentors, and anyone else who uses the GuidedD platform, website, or related services. This Privacy Policy explains how GuidedD collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the platform.

GuidedD operates from the United States. If you use the platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use GuidedD, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: Your name, email address, username, and account login credentials.
  • Profile information: Your professional background, areas of expertise or interest, bio, photo, and preferences you provide when creating a mentor or mentee profile.
  • Booking and session data: Session requests, booking history, session types selected, and scheduling information.
  • Communications: Messages you send through the platform, support requests, and feedback you submit.
  • Payment-related information: Billing details submitted through our third-party payment processor. GuidedD does not store full payment card numbers. See Section 6 for more detail.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and usage activity on the platform.
  • Application data (mentors): Professional history, credentials, topic areas, motivation, and availability information submitted through the mentor application form.

We collect information directly from you when you register, apply, book a session, or contact us. We also collect certain technical data automatically when you use the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following business purposes:

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Matching mentees with appropriate mentors
  • Processing and confirming session bookings and payments
  • Communicating with you about your account, bookings, and platform updates
  • Reviewing mentor applications and maintaining quality standards
  • Responding to support requests and resolving disputes
  • Improving the platform, analyzing usage patterns, and fixing technical issues
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our Terms of Use

We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Session Data and Recordings

GuidedD does not currently record sessions. What you share in a session is intended to stay between you and your mentor.

Mentors are bound by confidentiality obligations under our Mentor Standards. They may not share, reference, or use session content outside the platform except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to address a safety concern.

GuidedD does not currently retain transcripts or audio/video recordings of sessions. If the platform's video infrastructure changes in a way that affects this, we will update this policy and notify users before the change takes effect.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With mentors or mentees: To facilitate the booking and session experience. Mentees see a mentor's profile and professional background. Mentors see limited booking and request information necessary to prepare for a session.
  • With service providers: We work with third-party providers who help us operate the platform, including payment processing, hosting, analytics, and email delivery. These providers are contractually required to use your information only as needed to provide those services.
  • For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GuidedD, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: If GuidedD is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users if this occurs.

6. Payment Processing

All payments on GuidedD are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. GuidedD does not store full payment card numbers or sensitive financial account details.

When you make a payment, your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Stripe may act as an independent data controller with respect to certain payment data depending on the nature of the transaction.

If you have questions about how Stripe handles your payment data, you can review Stripe’s privacy materials directly on their site.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, and no longer than 30 days where feasible, unless we are required to retain certain records longer for legal, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or contractual purposes.

Technical and usage data may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form for platform improvement purposes even after account deletion.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
  • Opt-out of communications: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

Depending on applicable law, including California law, you may have additional rights such as the right to know the categories of personal information collected about you, the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (GuidedD does not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@guidedd.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. If you believe your account has been compromised, please notify us immediately at support@guidedd.com. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

10. Children’s Privacy

GuidedD is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@guidedd.com.

11. Cookies and Tracking

GuidedD may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to support platform functionality, remember your preferences, and understand how users interact with the site. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

Most browsers allow you to control cookie settings. Disabling cookies may affect some platform functionality.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users by email or through the platform. Continued use of GuidedD after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
